 India tropical south tour

If you think holidaying is about indulging yourself in leisure activities, relaxing, or simply taking it easy while the days flow over you without a jerk, then Goa's sun-kissed beaches end your search. As you holiday in Goa and feel the exhilarating soft sand beneath your feet, you will find that there is no place which is as warm and inviting as the near-tropical beaches in Goa.
With a 131 kms long coastline, Goa is home to some of the finest beaches of India and the world as well. Boasting of turquoise blue water and white sands, the Goan beaches are rated very high on the popularity chart. Infact, Goan beaches never fail to catch the tourist's attention.

Goa's capital Panaji is home to Miramar beach, where a lovely seaface of soft sand is girdled with pine trees. Calangute, Arambol, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Morgim, Candolim and Sinquerim are few of the well known beaches to the north of Panaji. Bogmalo, Velsao, Cansualim, Majorda, Colva, Varca, Mobor, Betul, Agonda, Palolem beaches are few of the most sought after beaches to the south of Panaji.

North of Panaji are the popular beaches of Calangute and Baga which were the first of the hippies resorts back in the 1960s and 70s. The hippies left the beaches many years back and today, these are small, crowded resorts area doing a thriving business in the tourist season. If you are looking for a lonely beach, visit the Agonda Beach, south of Panaji. Edged by palms and casuarinas and a large hill to the south, you will find no shops or facilities at the Agonda Beach. Next, Mobor Beach is one of South Goa's most clean and beautiful beaches. Moving north from Mobor beach, you will find Colva Beach, another broad and charming stretch of sand.

If you desire to shop, dine, party and dance the night away, again Goan beaches offer you plenty of opportunities. Shopping in Goa beaches is quite an exhilarating experience, you will find a number of small shops selling everything, from handicrafts to clothes and several other items. Normally, most of the Goan beaches offer enough shopping opportunities, but the Baga-Candolim-Calangute stretch in the North Goa is most popular for shopping.

If you are looking for traditional Goan food and some international cuisines, move to any beachside restaurant where you can savour delicious Goan cuisine, seafood and some of the best European food in India. Calangute, Baga and Anjuna are the places where you can really enjoy your eating experience.

Once your dinner is over, you are probably ready to consider your partying options. To get an experience of Goa Trance Parties, head to its heartland - the Anjuna-Colva-Vagator belt on the north Bardez coast. If the restaurant has a band playing that you like, you might end up there all night.

If you are water sports lover, Goan beaches offer a rich feast of exciting attractions like para-sailing, wind surfing, jet-skiing, water skiing, knee and wake boarding, speed boat, scuba diving and snorkelling. Besides, Goan beaches are also good for swimming, Bogmalo Beach, just south of Panaji is amongst the safest beaches for swimming.
